Field Landman Training Class (Beginners Slope)

We offer a comprehensive training program which covers the basics of Land work and prepares the student to enter the Oil & Gas business as an Independent Landman. In this course you will learn the basics about what a field landman is and does. This course will teach you the basics of landman work. This course will review leasing, title work, divided ownership, royalties, and other topics of interest you need to know. Our class is unique in that we have partnered with oil and gas brokers to help provide placement opportunities to those who have successfully completed our course with on the job paid field training. Our Landman Training program is accredited by the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) for continuing education points. By successfully completing our course you will earn 10 RL or RPL continuing education credits.

Requirements

  • Our training is offered to all whom are interested. Our class is filled based on a first come first serve basis.
  • As we are looking to place individuals, some companies want to know your aptitude for basic skills such as typing, grammar, spelling, math, and computer skills. In order to provide this information we have all our participants take an aptitude test online.

Field Landman Training Class (Intermediate Slope)

This course is for the more advanced. It is designed for those who have been in the field and already have an understanding of the basic principles but are in need of further clarifications and instruction on title and ownership issues. Within this course you will encounter scenarios where the principles of Duhig are utilized and other problems of interests conveyed verses the land described. Additionally we will cover important contras that are used in oil and gas operations such as Area of Mutual interests Joint Venture Agreements, Farm outs, Production payments, Net Profit Interests and Seismic Options. In addition we will cover lease obligations and lease termination clauses as well as the joint operating agreement.

Field Landman Training Class - Calculations (Advanced Slope)

$300.00 (course book included)

This course is also for the more advanced. This class dives deeper into burdens, gross and net revenue interests, overriding royalty interests, farm outs, payouts, and non-consenting interests. This is a calculations course so it is important to understand formulas and how to set up ratio and proportions as well as work through word problems.

Lease Analyst Training Course

$400.00 (course book included)

We are offering this separate oil and gas training courses written for the interest of the lease analyst. This course is to provide a broad and strong knowledge base that be applied to those who are interested or new to the field. This course goes over everything from legal descriptions to ownership, to leasehold, to preparing the lease packet.

  • Ruler
  • Calculator
  • Writing utensil
  • Yellow pad for note taking

Payment Policy

The full cost of the class is due upon registration. We accept check or credit card.

A $50 fee will be charged for return check. At that time, your class registration will be canceled due to non-payment.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If for any reason you are not able to attend the course after you have registered for the class, you will receive a full refund for cancellation made two days (48 hours) prior to the first day of class start time.

If cancellation is made LESS than two days (48 hours) prior to the first day of class start time, you will receive only $445 in refund. The remaining amount of which $50 will pay for administrative cost and $300 credit will be applied toward another future class. The credit must be used within a year of the issue date.

Students terminated under the “Conduct Policy” will not receive a tuition refund.

In an event, we cancel the class, you can choose to receive a full refund or you can re-enroll for another class.

Attendance Policy

Our classes provide a lot of information in a very short period of time. Being the class is only five days it is very important that you are present and on time for each class. In the event you miss portions of the class there will not be time for you to make up any in class exercises or lecture. You will be expected to read the materials and prepare yourself for the subject matter covered during your absence.

Grading & Scoring Policy

Our tests are scored on a 100 point scale. If you receive a 70% or higher, it is considered passing and you will receive a certificate of successful completion. If you do not receive a 70% or higher, you will not receive a certificate and your receipt of payment will be your only proof of attendance.

If you do not score satisfactory on the exam, you may retake the course at anytime free of charge. The course can only be retaken one time within one year of enrollment. You will need to register for the class when/if you plan to retake. Due to limited availability of seating, we recommend you register as soon as you are able to retake the course. You must retake the entire course to retake the test. No student will be allowed to just retake the test.

Student Conduct Policy

Each student is expected to act ethically, honestly, and responsibly. In the event a student is found to be in violation of this policy, he/she may be asked to leave the course without refund. Reasons may include but not limited to disrupting, cheating, use of illegal drugs/alcohol, etc.
